Lotus Temple, so named because its shape of architectural lotus (internationally awarded for innovative architecture), it is classified as a Bahai temple (Bahai house of worship) in which people of any religion can go to pray or perform their rituals
Qutub Minar *, Built in 1192 with red sandstone and marble, and since that time the tallest minaret in the world and second highest tower in India, it is recognized as the symbol of Muslim rule in India (representing the victory of Mohammed Ghori over the Rajput clan). The tower is within the Qutub complex, which has also many different towers and ancient emperors tombs later added near the main tower
Vrindavan, one of the sacred places for many Hinduism traditions the town is considered to be in the same place as one deep and ancient forest in which Lord Krishna has spent his childhood years. One can have a stopover at Banke Bihari temple and check out the dedications being held to this Hindu deity
Mathura, also one of sacred places for Hindus, these lands were the birthplace of Lord Krishna. The temple dedicated to his birth, Keshav Dev Temple, is visited by many Hindus as well as well people who want to understand a little bit more this tradition
Taj Mahal*, one of the seven world wonders, it combines different architectural elements: Persians, Turks and Hindus. Built by Emperor Shah Jahan, in memory of his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal, the full white marble mausoleum took 21 years to complete and twenty thousand workers. It has details on each square meter and amazingly changes color under the sun.
Agra fort*, scene of many battles, the Agra fort one of the greatest Indian forts, has behind its walls the history of the Indian Wars and the Mughal royal family
Fatehpur Sikri* (30 km from Agra, located on Route Agra-Jaipur) built in 1500 by the last emperor of the Rajput clan, Maharana Sangram Singh, for strategic purposes, the city is situated on a rocky ridge. It has three miles long and one wide and surrounded by a wall of 11 km on three sides, in the fourth side there is a lake. It has royal palaces, harems, courts, and private rooms, also served as the capital of this clan.
Keoladeo national park*, named after a Lord Shiva temple, located in the park central area, this bird sanctuary has a large density of forest trees and typical birds from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, China and Siberia. Amer Fort, combining Hindu and Rajput elements, built by Emperor Raj Man Singh I, the fort has four floors (in each one present a courtyard) and an opulent palace, built in red sandstone and marble. The fort has also a temple dedicated to Sila Devi, goddess worship Chaitanya, whose statue was presented to the emperor when the victory in Bengal (now Bangladesh)
Hawa Mahal, known as the Palace of the Winds (because the building very well enjoy the wind currents), the palace architecture has Krishna’s (the Hindu god) crowns shape. It has got 953 mini windows; the original intention was that real women could look at the life of the city without being seen.
Jantar Mantar *, the astronomical observatory also built by Jai Singh II, between 1727 and 1734, is an expression of the astronomical skills and cosmological concepts possessed during the Mughal period. The observatory uses of instruments with simple geometric shape (Euclidean)
City palace, a palace complex (including also Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal) involves a large number of courtyards, gardens and other buildings (such as museums). Initiated by the Maharaja (king) Sawai Jai Singh II, between 1729 and 1732, the palace was originally surrounded by walls, but later emperor’s heirs annexed more buildings.
